Family Tree
Tree section painted, tacked and varnished. Add black inflorescence roots and stones to anchor it, all within a corten steel housing box. Bayside 2017.
Ebb and Flow
This well formed branch junction was beckoning to be turned into a work of art. Hand carved in meandering organic trails, and tackled with small copper tacks.
Log On
A group of 4 gum tree branch sections, painted and tackled with hand made silver tacks. Exhibited at artist trail/ exhibition at White’s Creek studio 2017.
Sum of Us
A suspended sculptural work, installed high up between gum trees, Eden Gardens 2017. Over 250 timber slices, curated, painted, embellished and trussed together.
We Stand together
A tight group of conversing branches. Organic patterns picked out in paint then embellished with hand made silver tacks. Installed on The Greenway 2017.
Rich Pickings
A 6 portal suspended installation at Scenic World 2019. Spread over a large area, 3 portals dangled freely, while 3 spun on small motors hidden within the canopy.
Circulation
A suspended sculptural installation made from the recycled timber pieces from my earlier work Sum of Us. It was a most challenging install at Bayside 2018.
See You Round
3 suspended portals, made from sticks wired to a bespoke steel frame. Hand painted in gold, silver and copper. Kuringai Art and garden Festival 2019.
Ripples
3 portal installation at Eden Gardens 2018. Each portal takes 80 hours to complete. Sticks are hand painted and wired to a bespoke wire frame.
Dream Weaver
An oversized bird’s nest woven from sticks and farm wire, with 3 eggs fashioned from chicken wire. Exhibited at Kuringai 2015, and then at Bayside 2016.
Woodland Portal
Foraged sticks, trimmed and wired to old farm wire. It was exhibited at Art on The Greenway in 2015. The start of my journey into organic sculpture.
